Postcards From The World

My approach to photography is rooted in exploration, travel and the desire to meld the extraordinary with the everyday.

I first began my career as a journalist, working for magazines and newspapers around the world before expanding into photography, design, and other forms of visual storytelling. That background continues to shape how I approach my work, lending me the drive to look beyond the first glance, and then to preserve and share the moments I encounter there.

My photography spans a wide range of subjects, from wildlife and natural landscapes to urban environments, abstract compositions, and the oft-overlooked details of everyday life. I love the way the camera opens my eyes to the world around me, and keeps me firmly rooted in the present even while allowing me to preserve a moment for the future.

I particularly enjoy capturing images at the intersection of the natural and man-made worlds, and am as comfortable snapping photos on a busy urban streetscape as on a secluded mountain vista. Over the years, my travels have taken me and my camera across nearly every continent, from the Americas to Europe to Africa and Asia.

Wherever I go, I try to capture the sense of place I feel in my surroundings, letting the world around me mold my perspective even as I compose each shot.

I hope you’ll think of my work as I myself do: As a series of frozen windows into the moments, details and wonders that make our world so special.
